Bored, bored, bored

I’m so bored. Bored with blogs, with housework, with TV, with everything. I have so many home projects I could be working on, but I just can’t generate the interest. You should be impressed I’ve mustered up the energy to post this link:

Guest Post: How to Cure Your Writer’s Block

One thing that stops me from writing is thinking of how huge the project is. This article reminds me it’s not as big as I think.

I think I would like to talk about writer’s block someday, when I am further removed from it.

Now back to the boredom.…*sigh*

  1. Dun dun duunnnnnn!! SCG’s weakness is — BOREDOM! Now the nefarious DarcMelancholy knows how to defeat her beaming smile and optimistic power-blasts.

    MUAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!

  2. I know what helps: chocolate. Oh, did you mean what helps you to write that dauntingly big project? Seriously, I know what you mean, and my solution (when I actually get over my initial resistance to start) is to break the project down into a small thing and then do it in chunks.

Which is why I am working on plot outline for the old trunk novel. I’m not even really rereading the thing, but just skimming mostly to get the gist of it (seeing as it’s been 4 years).

Believe it or not, it’s made the book project exciting again and shoehorned the events back into my head. Now I want to start writing.

Probably too much effort for you to go through though. I’m not what you’d call a prolific writer and don’t mind doing this kind of thing.

  3. I can’t help it — for the last 10 years whenever I hear someone say they’re bored, the Harvey Danger song “Flagpole Sitta” goes through my mind. I know, I’m an evil person. *hangs head in shame* I’ll let you youtube the song yourself in case you don’t know what I’m talking about so you can hate me later. ;)

Seriously, I think my listlessness of the past few days has rubbed off on you. That’s how I’ve felt too — having a hard time generating interest in pretty much everything. Maybe Kree is right and it’s nothing more than sick-and-tired-of-winter-itus. I sure hope so because this gets old fast!

*hugs* Hope you perk up soon, hon.
