Comments on: Sappy songs, anyone?

WIGSF, country music is the standard here, followed closely by classic heavy metal. And let me just say that most sappy songs earn an eye roll from me. These get me. I think it’s because they tell a story.

I’ve had somewhat similar experiences when I worked at a record store. Place like that, can’t help but be assaulted with all kinds of music which provoke all kinds of emotional responses.
But it was never the sappy stuff that got to me, it was the “oh my, this is so lame I have to burst into laughter” songs and the “I haven’t heard this in forever” ecstatic euphoric joy songs that usually got to me.
The sappy songs were employed by me to make customers leave the store when it was closing time and I just wanted to go home. Nothing clears out a store like country music. Well, in my neck of the woods, Tim McGraw emptied the store really quickly.
