The view from my lawn chair

Drifting clouds. No rolling today, no dark burgeoning or tight rotation. Peace.

I can’t imagine a prettier sky than Oklahoma’s. Especially on days like this, which remind me why I think God, beauty, and love are the same thing. My holy trinity.

The persistent breeze teases wisterian tendrils from the clouds. One cloud protests, countering the breeze with a half-hearted expansion, but soon it settles into the drift again. It is too lazy. Like me.

  1. It never ceases to amaze me how different sky can look depending on where I’m standing.

    Lovely sky.

  2. Yes the OKlahoma skies are truly amazing, I love to lie in my hammock and just enjoy

  3. What a sky! I was reading on the city-data forums and someone asked why the sky in GA wasn’t as blue as elsewhere, and I thought, huh? Our sky is blue!

But it ain’t blue like that. Only on the very rare non-humid days.

  4. I love how you say God, beauty and love are the same. I agree.

  5. That is a lovely lazy blue. :) Enjoy your sunshine! And when you’re done, could you send what’s left up here? Thanks!

    Love and hugs hon!

  6. I love your hat. I totally have the same hat myself.

    Ian

  7. Cheryl, when we went to AL I noticed the sky was not as blue or as expansive, but the air smelled so much sweeter. I missed that sweet air when I came home.

When I first put up my feet/sky-avatar someone wondered if the color had been enhanced. But no, that is my unadulterated sky and my (slightly adulterated) feet, taken at different times and pasted together.

(And I just noticed that I uploaded the very large version of the pictures. Ugh.)

  8. Last time I was in NY, I couldn’t believe how much lighter the air felt. I’m so use to knife-and-fork air, being up there in Duchess County was refreshing.

Right now all I can smell here is honeysuckle and confederate jasmine. Sweet, fo sure!

  9. Sherri,

It is a beautiful sky! I’ve just been reading your last few posts and I almost cried. You’ve been through a real transformation and still, the work continues. Great writing, too, girl! Montana skies are beautiful when they’re blue, too. Today they’re grey, but there’s a beauty to that, too. Love ya.

  10. Aw, thanks Angela. Yes, the work continues. If it ever stopped, I guess I could die then, huh?

I love the gray sky, too.

  11. I just realized I didn’t comment on this when you posted it.

I think it’s a pretty sky, to be sure. But what I really think is the most lovely of all? Besides your daughter, I mean?

… your hat. That hat’s “teh awesome.”

Love you sweetie. Hugs an’ stuff.
